Potomac ABC Recipe

TVP Sausage Gravy

Ingredients:

3 Tbsp butter
4 Tbsp flour
2-3 cups milk or soymilk

½ cup TVP – sausage granules
1 cup water
soy sauce, to taste

Directions:

Note: TVP is available at the Potomac Adventist Book & Health Food Store

  1. Bring water to a boil and turn off heat. Add TVP, stir, cover and let sit 5 minutes or until all water has been absorbed. If any liquid is left, drain and add w/ milk in step 3.
  2. Melt butter over med heat. Add flour and brown slightly, stirring constantly. (May need to add a tbsp or two of milk to keep from burning).
  3. Add 2 cups milk (slowly), stirring with a whisk, as gravy thickens. Add more milk if necessary to obtain desired consistency.
  4. Add soy sauce, to taste.
  5. Serve hot over biscuits.
